As a veterinarian assistant, you’ll support your colleagues and the doctor while assisting the veterinarian in providing quality care for patients. These responsibilities may include greeting clients, updating patient files, preparing the exam room for each patient, collecting vital signs, collecting patient chief complaint and medical history, preparing medical records in Vetter, and dispensing medications and supplies. Veterinary assistants must be compassionate and able to communicate with clients.
